INGOTS OF VIRGIN WAX OF BEE, WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?
The virgin wax natural bee which is formed by the candles, is derived from the honeycomb of beehives situated in different natural areas along the geography of the iberian peninsula. The worker bees young people through their glands ceríferas, secrete liquid wax colour snow-white, diluted in a component-volatile to evaporate the origin of the pieces of wax as we see in the hive, which is modeled by the bees slowly.
Spaces interanulares of the abdomen of the bee, leave flakes pure wax designed to carry up to the jaw by means of their posterior legs, to salivarlas, chew them, add lots of pollen and propolis, and in short, to make it more malleable and able to start the construction of the honeycomb. So the bees proceed to the manufacture of pure wax, it is necessary to take several key ingredients:
• there is a large population of worker bees young.
• The temperature in the hive is between 32 and 36 degrees. • In the hive to accumulate a large amount of pollen and honey (for every kg of wax are accurate at least 12 kg of honey).
Already in the facilities of extraction, it performs a meticulous procedure of centrifugation of the honeycomb previously desoperculado (removal of the seals céreos that cover cells of honey), after a subsequent heating process and removal of debris and impurities, and finally get the wax of highest quality of the hive, the wax of “operculum”.
INGOTS OF VIRGIN WAX OF BEE, ETYMOLOGY AND HISTORY:
The term “wax” comes from the Latin of the same name and, therefore, the Greek “kerós”. As to the word “sail”, has its origin in the Latin word “vigil” (guardian night), related to the verb “vigere” (to be in fullness of forces). As to the word “bullion” comes from the French word “lingot” through the provençal “lingo”or “lenguo” (by similarity to the form of language which always had small blocks elongated gold).
In addition to manufacturing of handmade candles pure with a wick, traditional, natural beeswax has had many uses throughout history (creation of rigid film for writing, wax wood, paper, fabrics and leather, preservative and waterproofing, production of decorative pieces, insulating, making of candles scented with a sublime aroma, manufacture of ammunition, composition of cosmetic products, soaps and creams, mostly…)
The romans used wax bee made and other natural ingredients are added, for his paintings as he recounts Pliny the Elder (I century). In Egypt it was used as one of the add-ons to make masks, portraits and effigies, decorative and mode of blades (slats) to write. In the middle ages produced paste to make seals (becoming even the subject of a gift for kings), candles that were embellished with shields of arms, effigies of wax decorative rites posfunerarios and for use in rituals of exorcism. From the Renaissance was used in the artistic specialty of the ceroplástica in the foundry to build molds of superior quality and for producing decorative candles. Light the wick of the candles and lamps has been considered to be of very ancient times, a test outside of joy, of respect for distinguished people and assisting in religious rites.
In this area it is believed he began his use, following the meetings clandestine, taking place in places gloomy, which was required by necessity to the use of candles (becoming later in a product of ornament). To the mid-eighteenth century they started to manufacture paraffin-based, scented oils, animal oils, hydrogenated or other fatty materials, stearic acid, and sometimes beeswax.
The most ancient way to make candles natural beeswax, consists in the suspension of the candle in a container where it hosts wax (or fat), frozen. Remove the candle from the container and wait until that melts when heated. This process is repeated several times until you get the thickness wanted, and in some cases, provide natural ingredients to provide aroma.
Today, the greater part of them are manufactured by using molds and machinery in factories, and at the artisanal level with sheets of wax stretched. In the industrial era, are used to model figures in wax museums, and already in the modern era, it has advanced its use as an ingredient in many natural cosmetic products (balm, soaps, body lotions,..).
