FEATURES OF TIERRAS DEL LIMIA POLLEN
Originated by symbiosis between plant species of Limia riverside and the surrounding Sotomonte, born one of the purest and most extraordinary pollens of the peninsula.
Since the late spring hatching with the budding flower of Salix sp and various fruit species (cherry, apple, pear, etc…), going through the colorful appeal of Ericas sp. during the month of May and the robust retamas of the first of June, we link with the extreme Galician estío that impestuously knocks at our door, accompanied by a polychromatic Miscellaneous coming from brambles and retamas in full activity , to lead to the final collection by the bee of the golden and excellent Chestnut pollen, very abundant in the area.
Multicromatic color of living shades, predominating according to plant origin yellowish, orange and greenish pigments. Its aroma is strongly floral and dry in the first instance, prolonging its essence in time. Natural fluffy texture before dehydration and consistent slightly pasty by minimizing aqueous component.
The flavor provides multiple floral and intense sensations, evoking natural essences of the hive.
It is a supreme quality food supplement due to a balanced content of carbohydrates, proteins (22 essential amino acids), enzymes, phytosterols, vitamins (B, C, E), minerals and antioxidants.
EXCELLENCIES OF TIERRAS DEL LIMIA POLLEN
Like our entire range of pure honeys and derivatives (royal jelly, propolis,..), we are talking about a natural polymic substance collected by our bees with countless qualities:
* Crude: our honeys and derivatives are not subjected to heating processes (more than 40 degrees) or pasteurization methods, so it keeps intact all vitamins, minerals, nutrients and enzymes, as well as their taste and olfactory qualities
* Non-homogenized: we never mix natural pollens of different geographical or floral origins, because our permanent objective is to maintain the essence and purity from its origin to the palate of the final consumer.
* Pure: it is obtained by bees releasing pollen from flowers, to be collected later in the receptacles placed for such use on the outside of the piquera of the hive; that is why in this process there are no external factors that nature itself provides.
* No added sugars: our pollen is what it is, just as the bee produces it in the hive, thus possessing natural substances characteristic of an unadulterated natural pollen.
USAGE TIPS
Pollen is a natural food that has unique attributes, so if we want to preserve them, it is advisable to eat it directly, tasting it inside the mouth as long as possible.
TIERRAS DEL LIMIA POLLEN, WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
Pollen, such as royal jelly and natural honey, are essential food supplements collected by the Bee, as a result of libation in flowers of predominant plants, such as BlackBerry (Rubus sp), Chestnut (Castanea sativa), retama (Retama sp) and varied native wild flora. Part of these pollen grains are collected in a kind of cazapolen box placed in the entrance of the hive, falling into it by rubbing that causes the transit of a number of worker bees when passing through the holes of a grid installed above; thus, another percentage of pollen is introduced into the hive by other bees, thus continuing inside, the natural dynamics of honey production without any disruption.
The term pollen refers to the tiny grains produced by seed plants (spermatophytes) contained in the pollen sac of the anther (located in the male organs of the flowers, stamens) that the bee will collect, each containing a microgametophyte (male gametophyte).
TIERRAS DEL LIMIA POLLEN, ETYMOLOGY AND HISTORY
Word from the Latin “pollen” = very fine powder, flour flower, is associated with the Indo-European root “ *pel-3 ” = flour, powder.
The history of pollen is as old as its existence, being one of the most relevant indicators that encourages the discovery of the real vegetation existing in past times.
In the supposed original Shroud kept in Turin, traces of pollen were found from the flower of different plants in the area of Palestine (2,000 years old).
Palinology is the science that deals with the study of spores and pollen of flowers. The Englishman N. Green in the seventeenth century was the first to observe pollen grains under a microscope, but it was in the early nineteenth century when he began to arouse his interest (Fischer came to describe 2,200 different types of pollen) thanks to the intensive use of increasingly refined microscopes.
Already in the twentieth century developed in the German coal mines, a morphological system for the classification of natural spores and description of palinological associations, evolving progressively in terms of technique, and therefore in importance to this day.
One of the latest developments is the application of political analysis in the detection of climate changes, through the study of pollen and spores distributions.
COLLECTION AREA: SPAIN (PLACES AROUND LIMIA RIVER (GALICIA ))
Located in the southeast of the Galician community, this area comprises a beautiful territory located in the center of the province orensana, as a large natural valley that subtly embraces the caudal Rio Limia (called by the ancient Romans “Rio del olvido” (Rio Lethes) in their belief to erase the memory of those who crossed it). The Bande mountain range covered in some areas by magical forest areas, and in others by stony terrain with chaparros shrubs, is the Royal watchful impert in lontananza to the northwest, venting to the south and east to an imposing natural antelan depression that covers almost all of this wonderful province.
Also noteworthy is its classification as a protected natural area thanks to its extensive and rich indigenous biodiversity (declared Natura 2000 network area and Biosphere Reserve core), originated by peculiar natural soil-Botanical typologies, carved from the continuous scourge by a severe oceanic climate very characteristic.
