A FAMILY BUSINESS
The founders, José Ignacio Gimeno and Fernando Escanilla, agricultural engineers with expertise in beekeeping, environmental conservation, landscape management, food production and social development, embarked on a transformative journey in 2007, based on the core values they consider important: professionalism, passion, ethical practices, social responsibility, a strong sense of service and a deep respect for natural environments.
Following initial success in the local market, the team decides to expand the product range, collaborating directly with committed beekeepers and traditional farmers from various regions of the Iberian Peninsula, which over time forms a strong bond, continually exploring new production alternatives, improving quality and driving personal and professional growth. This dedication translates into stable, top-quality production that includes 25+ varieties of pure honey, derived products and cosmetics. The range is expanded each year through a rigorous selection process, ensuring that only the best products carry the Jalea de Luz name.

WHAT DO WE DO
We capture the essence of the nature of the Iberian Peninsula, where our bees thrive, to preserve the highest possible degree of purity in our honey and derived products.
This dedication is reflected in our meticulous artisanal processing methods, as well as in the careful maintenance of the hives to ensure the well-being of our bee colonies, the harvesting of honey at the optimal time, a patient maturation process and artisanal packaging to avoid homogenization.

At the helm of Jalea de Luz are Nacho Gimeno, Fernando Escanilla and Miguel P. Escanilla.
We are beekeepers, entrepreneurs and agricultural engineers with extensive experience in maintaining the natural environment.
We work with beekeepers from all over the Peninsula to ensure that our range of Raw Honey contains the highest quality, most delicious and original varieties, covering the entire peninsular territory. Our beekeepers comply with the strictest quality standards to ensure that at Jalea de Luz you will find the best honey in Spain.
Los Monegros
WHERE WE ARE
Our base and production and packaging centre is located in Monegrillo, Zaragoza, in the heart of Los Monegros Desert, an incomparable place for its beauty and unique conditions.
We place our hives in these wild natural environments to integrate them into the purest ecosystem possible, respecting the environment and its natural cycles. We use the traditional method of transhumance depending on the time of year and the type of flora at any given time, to obtain the most suitable honey for each season.
